TIMON project has gone through the second testing week in real environment in TASS facilities in Helmond (The Netherlands), from 12th to 16th February 2018. The main objective of this testing was to test the overall TIMON system integrated relying on the capabilities of the enabling technologies prior to the piloting campaign in Ljubljana (Slovenia).
Different services have been successfully tested, such as the prediction of traffic congestion, collision alert for VRU, road hazard warning, dynamic routing for drivers and cyclist, as well as the multimodal routing services.
For this, TIMON partners have analysed and processed real time data on traffic dynamics in the area of Helmond and Eindhoven, from cameras placed in the road side and vehicles. Besides, data related to multimodal transport, i.e. real time GTFS data and weather data. All this data together with the traffic congestion prediction and real time traffic information has been used as input for delivering real time services for the transport users.
The TIMON project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No. 636220
